Richmond Hill, ON: - The OMHA has announced details for the 2009 OMHA Referee Schools brought to you by Force Sports and CCM. Once again, the OMHA will offer three [3] school locations: Trenton in the East, Guelph in the Central District and Windsor in the West.
l Celebrating its 15th year, the OMHA Referee Schools provide new and less experienced officials with an opportunity to acquire officiating skills and rule knowledge while completing OMHA and Hockey Canada certification requirements. The intensive action packed agenda includes audiovisual presentations, classroom instruction, and on-ice training. In operation since 1995, the school has grown to the point where it now attracts officials from across the province and from the United States.
The OMHA Referee School features a variety of guest speakers. This includes the ‘Hot Stove’ Panel Discussion. This unique feature of the school consists of a panel including present and former Officials of the National Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey League, and the Ontario Hockey Federation.
