Innisfil, ON: - The Innisfil Winterhawks Major Novice "A" team traveled to Parry Sound this past weekend to compete in the town`s annual rep hockey tournament. For the second time this season, this team of seven and eight year-olds represented Innisfil well returning as champions.
The team played five games over the weekend against some very tough opponents who were all undefeated up to tournament time in their respective leagues. The Hawks displayed composure and character prevailing with 34 seconds left in the Championship game against Niagara-on-the-Lake in a 4- 3 victory.
It was the team`s third game of the day to Niagara`s second, but these young athletes will and desire along with a "we want the hardware" attitude continues to produce wins.
The team continues on with an unbeaten streak of 21 games home games are played at the Innisfil Recreational Complex on Friday nights at 7 p.m.
