Hear ye, hear ye! Calling all Spring Team Coaches and Managers.
Hockey Now is launching the First Annual Hockey Now Spring Blast tournament, April 2 to 5, 2010 in Surrey, B.C.
“We’ve been getting a lot of calls about the event since we announced it at the Hockey Show about ten days ago,” says publisher Don McIntosh. “We expect it to be a sell out – and a great experience for all the teams who participate. We’ve got room for 60 teams and can’t wait to get started. We’ve already got over a dozen teams on the priority list.”
McIntosh explains that Hockey Now has been considering running an event like this for a number of years.
“We’ve entered our second decade now, and the time is ripe to get more directly involved in the community we serve,” he says. “Spring hockey gives us a special opportunity to do this.”
McIntosh says Hockey Now will be actively contacting coaches and managers across B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba and along the U.S. Pacific Coast states to bring top-notch competition to the tournament.
“We want to make this event a premier event on the western spring hockey circuit. This will be the tournament where spring teams will get their first opportunity to play competitively. With hockey in the Lower Mainland finishing so early this year due to the Olympics, we expect there will be a lot teams ready to go at the beginning of April.”
McIntosh says he’s also fielded calls from Alberta from winter teams that would like one last tourney to finish off their seasons.
